Frank Battista ’54 Creates Legacy with New Lab

Photo of Frank BattistaWhen the new Gateway Academic Center opens during the fall 2019 semester, it will feature a lab named in honor of Frank T. Battista ’54. Gateway, which includes 90,000 square feet for 11 smart classrooms, 13 advanced labs, 45 faculty offices, and other collaborative spaces, is the first academic building to open on campus in almost 20 years.

Frank blended his generous contribution to his alma mater as part outright gift and part bequest. “Stevens opened doors for me,” Frank said. “I’m proud my legacy will help open doors for future generations of students.”
